Drumroll, please……
0.13uSv/hr. As expected, no measurable drop in background levels. Water is used to slow neutrons and to cool warm nuclear fuel, but for shielding it’s usually best to use lead for things like this. I will most likely keep this cooler around to do similar tests with different materials, though it would be nice to get something in this shape that I could melt lead ingots into.
