We were married by a friend with a mohawk; I walked down the isle to Nymphetamine by Cradle Of Filth. Not your typical wedding, but it was an amazing day! We didn’t write our own vows, so here is the transcript of what the guy who married us said.
“Good afternoon.
I’d like to start by thanking everyone who made the trip to share and relive such an important and special day.
This day is for you to share with [Moose] and [Mrs. Moose].
This is [Moose] and [Mrs. Moose]’s day they value so much as to share it with you, the ones they love.
What an amazing love it is. To recreate such a poignant moment with such a beautiful intent, to give and share all of this love with you who have joined us here today.
So clearly a love that is not blind.
A benchmark to stand the test of time.
As I searched to define the love I see, it became so clear.
I did not need to, nor do I believe I could define a love so honest as a love willing to be here today with the purpose of sharing it with you all.
To express it to you. To live it with you. I am honored to witness such love.
I have always had a favorite quote. Today it has never rung more true. The quote?
‘One crowded hour of glorious life is worth more than an age without a name.’
Is this not one crowded hour of glorious life? Is this not worth more than an age without a name?
This is the start of that glorious life. This is the birth of that name-
A name shared together. A name honoring you all.
In a world of grief and pain, flowers bloom even then.
Today we stand in the garden to bear witness to the bloom.
So let’s bear witness-
[Moose]
[Mrs. Moose]
Do you ______ take ______ to bear an eternity of glorious life?
[I do’s]
[Rings]
By the honor given to me, I now pronounce you husband and wife.”
