There’s a nasty combo that spawns infinite 1/1 flying Hornet tokens with deathtouch. I almost never build decks around combos, and this one can be especially tricky to pull off, being a three-color four-card combo, but I’ve had a lot of fun with it. Here’s what’s in the deck:
2x Nylea’s Presence
3x Sedge Scorpion
3x Thornweald Archer
3x Font of Fertility
3x Fog
4x Soul Warden
4x Hornet Nest
4x Ephemeral Shields
4x Midnight Guard
4x Burning Anger
7x Mountain
9x Forest
10x Plains
The combo works when you have Hornet Nest and Midnight Guard on the battlefield. Midnight Guard untaps when a creature enters the battlefield. Enchant him with Burning Anger, which lets him tap to deal damage equal to its power to target creature or player. Then use Ephemeral Shields to make Hornet Nest indestructible until end of turn. Tap Midnight Guard to deal damage to Hornet Nest; When Hornet Nest is dealt damage, put that may 1/1 flying green insect tokens with deathtouch onto the battlefield. When they enter the battlefield, untap Midnight Guard. Repeat to your hearts content! And if you have any suggestions for improvements, combos, etc, be sure to leave a comment!
